The Craftsman is a hidden cocktail bar near Bac My An beach, and it was the first of its kind in Da Nang. By day you would walk straight past it. At night, look for the small lit sign and the arched wooden door on Phan Tu, push it open, and the quiet street disappears. Inside it is warm and low-lit, with candles on the bar and a real whisky shelf behind the counter. The bar leans on the classics and makes them properly, one at a time, plus a few of its own built with fresh fruit and herbs. A whole wall of records, soul and jazz and funk, sets the mood, and there is live music in the room on Wednesday and Saturday. Come early for a quiet drink, or stay late for the music. Open every evening from 6:30pm until late.
